Eight AI UGC ads, re-shot to talk from the first frame

In short

MakeRoll’s agent pipeline made eight AI UGC ads for MakeRoll itself, four stories with two spoken hooks each, using Gemini 3 Pro Image for the stills and Veo 3.1 Fast to turn each still into a clip with native speech. The cost breakdown is available to members or partners only. This third run exists because the owner rejected run 2’s silent openings, so every ad now has to be talking by 0.5 s, and all eight pass that gate with the first spoken word at 0.00 s against 1.33 s in run 2. Each ad also carries 38.4 spoken words, against 20.6 before.

A MakeRoll production study of run 3 of the eight AI UGC ads that MakeRoll made to promote itself. Every person in these ads is an AI-generated fictional character, not a real MakeRoll member, customer or testimonial. What they say about MakeRoll is a scripted line. The ads were made on 24 Sep 2026, before MakeRoll’s first weekly brief goes out on 28 Sep 2026, so no member used a brief to make them. They carry no burned-in AI label. The owner decided that, and any upload should switch on the platform’s AI-content label. The yacht, the beach, the golf course and the supercar are generated settings, not outcomes. MakeRoll makes no passive-income pitch. No A/B test has been run, and no audience, view or sign-up data exists for these ads. None of them has run as paid media, and this page doesn’t predict how they’d do. Every number here comes from the run’s ledgers, gate files and review notes.

01 / Why there is a run 3

Run 2 passed every gate. The owner still said no.

Run 2 shipped eight ads that scored 100.0 on the measured gate, and the owner turned them down. The gate measured what a script can read, like text, timing and loudness. It couldn’t tell whether the first second was worth watching.

The owner rejected run 2’s openings: the first seconds were silent, the dry humour did not land and it looked staged. Run 3 had to open with a glamorous, high-energy creator already talking and laughing, more talking, more camera angles.

The owner’s notes on run 2, in a neutral paraphrase. The exact wording isn’t published here.

What changed, note by note

Each note became a hard rule in the new brief or a gate in the checker. None of them stayed a wish.

  • Silent start

Every hook is now a 4 s clip with native speech, and a new gate rejects any cut whose first word lands after 0.5 s. Run 2’s hooks were silent clips under a text pill, and its first word came at 1.33 s on average.

  • Dry humour

No deadpan and no sarcasm anywhere. The four archetypes became radiant optimist, playful charmer, chaotic fun and confident glam, and the payoff had to be something to want, not a pun that needs explaining.

  • Looked staged

No still images in any cut, and a gate now counts them. Every prompt carries a handheld, natural-light, real-skin style line, and a voice gate checks that one voice speaks in every shot.

  • The look

A glamorous, confident, high-energy creator in golden light, with friends laughing in the background who never speak. The styling had to stay ad-safe, with the framing on her face, her energy and the scene.

  • More talking

She speaks in every shot now, three shots per cut. Whisper counts 38.4 spoken words per cut, against 20.6 in run 2.

  • More angles

Three camera setups per cut, usually a selfie close-up, a friend-filmed medium and a wide or low angle, plus jump cuts into 1.12x to 1.3x punch-ins.

Run 2 against run 3, measured

Both runs were re-measured from the delivered masters with Whisper small.en and ffmpeg frame differences, eight cuts each. Nothing here is read from a prompt. The first eight rows are means per cut, and the last two cover the whole run. The earlier cuts are still live, so you can play the run 2 AI UGC ads side by side with this page.

Moving these numbers shows the owner’s notes were followed. It doesn’t show that anyone would watch longer, because neither run has been shown to an audience.

02 / The films

Four stories. Two spoken ways in.

Each story was shot once as a shared body and got two spoken hooks. Only the hook changes between A and B, so any difference you feel comes from the first 2.33 to 3.43 s. Press play for sound. Captions are on by default, and starting one film pauses the rest.

How the pairs work

Two spoken hooks, spliced onto one body.

Every hook is its own 4 s clip with speech, trimmed to the end of her line. The body is an 8 s clip and a 4 s clip, both spoken, cut with jump cuts and punch-ins, then a 2 s end card. So a second hook costs one short clip, not a second ad, and the only thing that differs between A and B is the opening line.

03 / The hook design

Every hook talks. Every B opens a loop.

The concept writers owed each story two spoken hooks, each with a named mechanism. Two A hooks are surprises and two are contradictions. All four B hooks promise something the body then pays off. The body and the end card stay fixed, so the hook is the only thing that changes.

Each story has two hooks on one shared body. Only the first 2.33 to 3.43 seconds differ, so a future test could isolate the hook. No A/B test has been run, so neither hook has a result. The concept and review scores on this page are internal creative scores, not predictions.

  • 0results exist to choose between A and B

None of the eight has run, so nobody knows yet which opener holds attention longer. The pairs are built so a platform split test can answer it, with the body held constant.

  • 5 vs 5paid hook takes, A against B

Two hook clips were re-shot, Bea’s A and Jiwoo’s B, and both times the reason was the voice. The voice gate heard a different timbre in the hook than in the body, so each got one paid retake.

  • 4 of 8cuts Stage 3 sent back once

Two for a garbled pseudo-logo on the golf polo and two for sheer satin on the supercar dress. Only one of the four fixes touched a hook, the satin in Thao’s hook A. Every fix was made locally.

04 / Brief and product truth

Same rulebook as run 2. A new bar on top.

Run 3 reused run 2’s product-truth file and trend pull from the same morning. The claims rules didn’t change. The creative brief did, rewritten around the owner’s notes, with a higher spend cap per story because every shot now speaks.

MakeRoll is a weekly AI video build room where you bring one rough idea and turn it into a finished short video with a weekly brief, exact model and prompt recipes, and human critique.

The one-liner the agents worked from, written from makeroll.com as scraped on 24 Sep 2026 for run 2 and reused unchanged in run 3.

The transformation every concept had to show, in the site’s words.

One idea in. A finished video is the goal.

Six rules the scripts had to pass

  • Two prices, nothing else

The only dollar amounts allowed in ad copy are $9.99 a week and $199 once. One ad shows a price, the supercar’s on-screen $9.99/week. Veo dropped the “nine” from “nine ninety-nine” in both takes of that line, so the spoken price was cut and only the text carries it.

  • No reach or money promises

Nothing about play counts, followers or going big, and nothing about getting paid or landing work. She can say what she did and how it felt, never what it brought in.

  • She builds it, the app doesn’t

MakeRoll is a build room with a weekly brief, exact model and prompt recipes, critique and a private room. Every script keeps her as the builder. MakeRoll hands over the brief and the recipe, never the finished video.

  • No borrowed brands

No logos on the boat, the swimwear, the polo, the cart or the car. When Veo stitched a garbled pseudo-logo onto the golf polo, Stage 3 rejected both golf cuts until it was filled from the surrounding knit.

  • No burned-in AI label, by owner decision

Disclosure goes through the platform’s AI-content toggle at upload and sits next to every player on this page. The ads themselves carry no on-screen AI line.

  • Glamorous, and ad-safe

The brief asked for a glamorous, confident, high-energy creator and no sheer fabric or framing that lingers on the body. The one slip, sheer satin on the supercar dress, was caught at Stage 3 and softened.

What the trend pull said

Public TikTok search statistics for other creators’ videos, sampled 24 Sep 2026. They’re not results for these ads.

Run 3 reused run 2’s five TikTok keyword searches from the same morning, 20 videos each, so the trend data cost nothing new. Four search terms match the settings and one tests the product angle. Rates are pooled across each result set. The results are relevance-ranked, so they’re a sample of what TikTok surfaces, not a random one.

How four got picked from twelve

Two generator agents wrote six concepts each, g1 to g6 and h1 to h6, with the owner’s notes pasted in as the brief. The orchestrator scored all twelve out of 50, since no generator scored its own, and a hook now scored on first-second energy. The advance rule wanted one story per setting and one per archetype, and it brute-forced every legal set for the highest total. The winning set scored 167 of 200, against 164, 161 and 161 for the runners-up. The two top scorers, h2 and h4 at 43, both made it. g5 at 42 didn’t, because it was a beach story with a playful-charmer voice, the same setting and archetype as h2.

Why each concept might not get shared the writers’ own kill reasons

Every concept had to name the one reason it would fail. Here they are word for word, the four that advanced included.

  • h2 · advanced’It’s not a guy’ may pull comments about her love life instead of the brief, so the shares carry the flirt and not makeroll.com.
  • h4 · advancedThe hot take invites tool-versus-tool arguments that never mention MakeRoll, and a glam woman beside a supercar can read as a generic luxury ad before she finishes her first line.
  • g5Four spoken steps can feel like a lesson, so viewers may save it quietly and never share it, and the steps give enough away that some never visit the site.
  • h1 · advancedThe yacht and her energy carry the first three seconds, but the recipe list is generic enough that viewers may save it as an AI tip without ever connecting it to makeroll.com.

  • g2’I finally posted a video’ only lands for people who make videos, so beach-day viewers outside that niche see a happy girl in the surf and have nothing to pass on.
  • g6The rule assumes a friend group that all makes AI videos, which most viewers’ friends do not, so they may laugh but have nobody real to tag.

Same spine. Three more ways to say no.

Run 3 started at 14:18 local time on 24 Sep 2026, and the last gate on a final master closed at 17:17. Four production agents worked in parallel, each under its own spend cap, and the cheap checks still sit in front of the expensive ones.

Three gates added for run 3

Each new gate answers one of the owner’s notes with a number the checker can measure. All eight cuts pass the first two. The voice gate docks points without rejecting anything above 0.65, and it docked three of the eight. A fourth check, brand spelled MakeRoll in every caption, came later, after review, and passes on all eight. The gate adds up 139 raw points and scales them to 100.

  • Talking by 0.5 s

Whisper timestamps the first spoken word of the finished cut. Anything after 0.5 s rejects the cut.

  • Same voice in every shot

The owner’s bar, scored per cut

Stage 3 scored every cut from 0 to 10 on the five things the owner asked for. A score under 6 on energy, glamour or looking real would have been a reject, and the lowest of those three scores was 8. Good times scored lowest on the supercar, at 7, because Thao plays it as a confident hot take rather than a party. These are one reviewer’s internal scores, not audience results.

Four returns, every fix made locally

Stage 3 could return a video once. A local fix came first, meaning edit windows, sticker geometry or a local patch on a clip. A paid fix was allowed only if it fit under the story’s remaining cap. A video that failed twice would have shipped with a failed tag. None needed it. One caveat. After the Stage 3 verdicts, all eight masters were re-assembled from the same fixed inputs and re-gated between 16:25 and 17:17, the two golf cuts a second time for the caption fix. Every measured result held. The scores moved only because the new caption check joined the total, so 95.6 became 95.7. Nobody issued a fresh visual verdict on those exact files.

Golf · hooks A and B

A pseudo-logo, filled from the knit.

Members or partners only

First review, rejectA garbled AI pseudo-logo sat on the polo chest through all of s1, 2.60 to 9.90 s, largest in the 1.25x punch-in. It broke the no-logo lock, and s1 is shared, so both cuts went back.

After the return, passThe garbled AI pseudo-logo on the polo was filled from the surrounding knit. The patch holds across more than 20 checked timestamps, including the glove passing in front and the punch-in.

  1. The producer had flagged “a tiny generic squiggle” and offered a blur as the fix. At native resolution the reviewer called it a garbled emblem, legible at phone size.
  2. A tracked fill replaced it with the surrounding knit, keyframed by hand where the glove passes. It borrows fine texture, so no blur smear shows.
  3. Both cuts were re-assembled and re-gated at 100.0. The original clip is kept.
Supercar · hooks A and B

Sheer satin softened, sticker narrowed.

Members or partners only

First review, reject for ad safetySheer satin read as see-through at phone size in hA, s1 and s2 of cut A, and in s1 and s2 of cut B. The producer hadn’t flagged it.

After the return, passThe chest area was softened with a tracked blur, checked at more than 12 timestamps at native resolution and at phone size. The fabric reads as smooth satin.

  1. Soft blur patches, tracked on the three affected clips. The audio was copied untouched and the frame counts stayed at 96, 192 and 96.
  2. The full review after the fix found one more problem. The product sticker covered her mouth at 2.0 to 2.8 s and 3.8 to 4.6 s, so it was narrowed from 360 to 290 px wide. The makeroll.com pill kept its size, and OCR still reads it at 2.20 s.
  3. Cut A re-gated at 95.7 and cut B at 91.4. Both lose points to the voice gate, and B also to its loop seam.

Left for the owner and ad review

  • Yacht s1A seated medium shot in swimwear. Stage 3 judged it ad-safe, and named it the item most likely to draw a question at TikTok ad review.
  • SupercarConfident glam rather than party energy, with good times at 7. She laughs, but the tone is a hot take.
  • Supercar carA generic pearl-white sports coupe, not an exotic. It stays the same car in every shot, with no badge and no plate.

Four clips and 11 stills that never shipped

Catching a bad still before it became a clip was the point of looking. Every paid take was kept in a _takes/ folder, so each line below points at a real file.

  • Members or partners onlyPloy’s body s1, take 1

Her finger-counting hand showed its back with one finger up at 2.9 to 4.5 s, and it read as a rude gesture over the product line. Retake with open palms, seed 3103 to 3113.

  • Members or partners onlyBea’s hook A, take 1

The voice gate measured the hook as the outlier, 0.683 against s2. The retake used the same delivery words as the body, seed 2201 to 2211, and reached 0.721.

  • Members or partners onlyJiwoo’s hook B, take 1

Lowering her voice changed its timbre, 0.747 against s2, and she said most of the line in profile. The retake faces the lens in her full bright voice, seed 302 to 312.

  • Members or partners onlyThao’s body s2, take 1

A word error rate of 0.20, her back to the lens mid-line and a price missing its “nine”. Take 2, seed 415, fixed the first two. The price came out in the edit.

StoryStillWhy it was set aside
Yachtmaster take 2On-lock sunglasses, but take 1 was kept because it looked more glamorous, with a real laugh. The sunglasses came through the lock text in every later shot.
Beachmaster take 1Photoreal but plain, with no visible glam makeup and frizzy hair.
Beachmaster take 2The same problem as take 1. Take 3 asked for full soft-glam makeup and got it.
Beachs2 take 1The one-piece turned into a two-piece look, with a selfie arm in frame.
Beachs2 take 2Billed, but the download from the file host stalled at 131 KB and never finished. The ledger row was added by hand.
Beachs2 take 3A sunset side angle that Veo flagged as sensitive twice, even after a waist-up crop. The backlit white linen probably read as translucent.
Beachs2 take 4It copied the umbrella from the s1 reference and smeared hair across her eyes.
Golfs2 take 1It repeated s1’s framing, the same distance and the same pose. Take 2 is a true low-angle shot against the sky.
Supercarmaster take 1Photoreal but not glamorous enough, with messy shorter hair and no visible glam makeup.
SupercarhA take 1Framed too wide. Take 2 was still knee-up and needed a local crop to waist-up.
SupercarhB take 1It copied the s1 framing, so both B setups would have been the same shot.

What the run found in the tools

None of these rejected a film. They’re problems in the shared scripts and services, logged by the production agents, the Stage 3 reviewer and the evidence check behind this page.

  • 30.9 minheld by two stalled image downloads

Treg returned both images in about 45 s. The download from the file host had no timeout, so the two calls sat for 917.7 s and 934.8 s. One image was fetched by hand and became Thao’s master. The other stopped at 131,072 bytes, was billed and never used. The one Veo prediction whose poller was killed, Bea’s first hook B take, had ended as a content-safety refusal, which isn’t billed, so nothing was orphaned or wasted. Task ids now go on disk first, and downloads have timeouts, retries and resume.

  • “nine”the word Veo dropped from the price

Asked for “nine ninety-nine a week”, both takes of Thao’s price line dropped the “nine”. A control with a local text-to-speech voice showed Whisper hears the right phrasing as $9.99, so the error was in the generated speech. The spoken price was cut, and only the on-screen text carries it.

  • 3 of 8cuts under the voice target

The voice gate compares speaker embeddings shot by shot. Five cuts reach 0.75, and three ship at 0.721 or 0.699, above the 0.65 reject line. The evidence check re-ran the embeddings and every minimum matched within 0.0015.

  • hAa reference name the script dropped

The shooting script mapped any reference not named s1, s2 and so on to a character file, so a hook reference like hA pointed at nothing and vanished without a warning. The golf agent caught it and used s1. The script was fixed at 14:50 and now warns.

  • 6motion requests that failed and weren’t billed

Two hit a rate limit at submission, one was flagged as sensitive after 72.5 s of compute, and three failed as predictions. The flag came on a beach hook with friends in swimwear, so the still was cropped to a close-up and the resubmit passed.

  • make-rollcaught in review, fixed locally

Whisper splits or hyphenates MakeRoll in every story. The golf concept had no caption rules of its own, so both golf cuts first came out with “make-roll” in a caption at 5.4 s. It was caught in review after publishing prep and fixed locally. The brand spelling moved into the pipeline’s shared caption fixer, both golf cuts were re-assembled from the same clips, and a new check, brand spelled MakeRoll in every caption, passes on all eight.

  • 3paid re-rolls for copied framing or wardrobe

Gemini ignored face-placement instructions again and sometimes copied a reference image’s framing into a new shot. Every framing fix was a local crop or shift. Only three re-rolls had to be paid for.

  • ~6 a secondrepeated frames, still unmeasured by any gate

Veo renders at 24 fps and the cuts run at 30, so the assembler repeats about every fifth frame. A frame-difference scan finds 69 to 76 near-identical pairs per master before the end card. Run 2 had the same judder, and it’s still open.

Every paid call went through one script that caches outputs on disk, writes the ledger and refuses any call that would push a story past its cap. A retake moves the old take into _takes/, so nothing paid gets lost. 6 motion requests failed and weren’t billed, two on a rate limit, one on a content flag and three as failed predictions, and each was resubmitted.

Character lock

Ploy Chaiyaporn, Thai, 27, an AI-generated fictional character. The lock paragraph goes into every still prompt and every motion prompt word for word, and the voice line goes into every motion prompt, so the voice gate has one target.

Thai woman, 27, strikingly beautiful, heart-shaped face, flawless warm golden-tan glowing skin, high cheekbones with a soft peach flush, bright almond eyes with a soft bronze winged liner and full lashes, glossy peach-pink lips, radiant wide smile with a laugh always close; long glossy dark-brown hair in loose beach waves with a deep side part, lifting in the sea wind; chic black one-piece swimsuit with one tasteful side cut-out at the waist, worn under an open crisp white linen shirt with rolled sleeves and a cream linen sarong tied at the hip, gold hoop earrings, delicate layered gold necklaces, tortoiseshell sunglasses pushed up in her hair; fully opaque fabrics, no visible logos or text on any clothing or accessory.

Voice direction, pasted into every motion prompt, “a bright, warm, mid-pitched young female voice speaking sunny American English with a soft Thai lilt, fast and excited, laughing mid-sentence like she is telling her best friend a secret”.

Medium shot of Thai woman, 27, strikingly beautiful, heart-shaped face, flawless warm golden-tan glowing skin, high cheekbones with a soft peach flush, bright almond eyes with a soft bronze winged liner and full lashes, glossy peach-pink lips, radiant wide smile with a laugh always close; long glossy dark-brown hair in loose beach waves with a deep side part, lifting in the sea wind; chic black one-piece swimsuit with one tasteful side cut-out at the waist, worn under an open crisp white linen shirt with rolled sleeves and a cream linen sarong tied at the hip, gold hoop earrings, delicate layered gold necklaces, tortoiseshell sunglasses pushed up in her hair; fully opaque fabrics, no visible logos or text on any clothing or accessory. filmed by a friend walking backward ahead of her along the narrow side deck of a yacht; she strides confidently toward the lens mid-step, mid-word, with a big conspiratorial grin, pointing her index finger straight into the lens with one hand, her open white linen shirt and cream sarong fluttering in the wind, hair lifting. The yacht's white side rail and the glittering turquoise sea run behind her. Bright late-morning Mediterranean sun, warm and glowing on her skin, turquoise sea sparkling with sun glints, clear blue sky, an unbranded sleek white yacht with teak decks. Framed from the hips up. Her face sits in the upper-middle of the frame with the eyes about one-third from the top; the left-center area of the frame beside her holds only soft background (sea, sky, deck); nothing important in the bottom third. Character lock

Bea Villanueva, Filipina, 26, an AI-generated fictional character. The lock paragraph goes into every still prompt and every motion prompt word for word, and the voice line goes into every motion prompt, so the voice gate has one target.

Character lock, Bea Villanueva, verbatim
Filipina woman, 26, breathtakingly pretty, oval face, luminous warm-bronze glowing skin, dewy highlighted cheekbones, bold full lashes and a soft brown smoky eye, glossy nude-rose lips, dimpled megawatt smile; long thick glossy black hair in loose mermaid waves with a center part, a few strands blowing across her face; fitted coral-red one-piece swimsuit with a chic square neckline and a small tasteful waist cut-out, worn with an open cropped white linen shirt and a flowing white linen sarong tied at the hip, gold huggie earrings, thin gold anklet; fully opaque fabrics, no visible logos or text on any clothing or accessory.

Voice direction, pasted into every motion prompt, “a bright, warm young female voice speaking American English with a light Filipino lilt, playful and flirty, teasing sing-song, quick and bubbly with a smile in every word”.

Script, as it plays

She speaks in all four shots. The fictional character says every line, so each one is a scripted line, not a member’s account. Cut A carries 39 scripted words and cut B 39.

What ships around it

  • Sticker

The site screenshot sticker with a makeroll.com label. It lands at 2.0 s and holds 2.6 s.

  • End card

MAKE/ROLL, makeroll.com, “Start your first brief”. It holds 2 s over a blur of the cut’s own first frame, so the loop back to the hook stays clean.

  • Share idea, from the concept file

relatable-tag: Every friend group has the one who is always on her phone; the tag instruction is spoken AND on screen, and beach vlogs carry the highest comment rate of the four lifestyle patterns (0.56%), so the format already invites replies.

  • Comment seed

The one paid retake

Hook A was re-shot once, seed 2201 to 2211. The voice gate heard the hook as the odd one out, 0.683 against s2 while s1 and s2 matched at 0.852. The retake used the same delivery words as the body and rose to 0.721, better but still under the 0.75 target. The brief allowed one pass, so it stopped there.

Stills set aside

  • master take 1Photoreal but plain, with no visible glam makeup and frizzy hair.
  • master take 2The same problem as take 1. Take 3 asked for full soft-glam makeup and got it.
  • s2 take 1The one-piece turned into a two-piece look, with a selfie arm in frame.
  • s2 take 2Billed, but the download from the file host stalled at 131 KB and never finished. The ledger row was added by hand.
  • s2 take 3A sunset side angle that Veo flagged as sensitive twice, even after a waist-up crop. The backlit white linen probably read as translucent.
  • s2 take 4It copied the umbrella from the s1 reference and smeared hair across her eyes.

Worst Golfer Here, Thriving

Jiwoo calls herself the worst golfer on the course and laughs about it. Her script has the video already done, so today she golfs. She never swings, on purpose, because a golf swing is where a video model breaks.

Character lock

Jiwoo Han, Korean, 28, an AI-generated fictional character. The lock paragraph goes into every still prompt and every motion prompt word for word, and the voice line goes into every motion prompt, so the voice gate has one target.

Character lock, Jiwoo Han, verbatim
Korean woman, 28, stunning, small V-line face, porcelain glass skin with a dewy glow, straight soft brows, sparkling doe eyes with a pink shimmer lid and fluttery lashes, glossy cherry-red gradient lips, huge playful grin; glossy chestnut-brown hair in a high bouncy ponytail with curtain bangs, swinging as she moves; fitted sleeveless baby-pink knit polo top, tailored high-waisted white shorts, white fitted golf glove on her left hand, small pearl stud earrings, delicate silver tennis bracelet, white sneakers; no visible logos or text on clothing, glove, clubs, bag or cart.

Voice direction, pasted into every motion prompt, “a bright, bubbly, giggly young woman's voice speaking American English with a light Korean accent, loud and excited, cracking herself up, rapid-fire, big warm reactions”.

Script, as it plays

She speaks in all four shots. The fictional character says every line, so each one is a scripted line, not a member’s account. Cut A carries 37 scripted words and cut B 36.

What ships around it

  • Sticker

The site screenshot sticker with a makeroll.com label. It lands at 2.0 s and holds 2.6 s.

  • End card

MAKE/ROLL, makeroll.com, “Get the weekly brief”. It holds 2 s over a blur of the cut’s own first frame, so the loop back to the hook stays clean.

  • Share idea, from the concept file

quotable-line: ’The camera is optional. Taste is not.’ is MakeRoll’s own line, short enough to screenshot and reuse; delivered by a laughing woman who owns being the worst golfer here, it lands as confident fun, not a slogan.

  • Comment seed

Hot take: taste beats the fancy model every single time. Agree or disagree?

  • AI label

None burned in, by owner decision. The disclosure sits beside every player on this page, and the platform toggle carries it at upload.

The one paid retake

Hook B was re-shot once, seed 302 to 312. Asking her to lower her voice playfully changed her timbre, 0.747 against s2, and she said most of the line in profile. The retake keeps her full bright voice, faces the lens and ends on a finger-to-lips “shh”. The voice match rose to 0.772.

Stills set aside

  • s2 take 1It repeated s1’s framing, the same distance and the same pose. Take 2 is a true low-angle shot against the sky.

No text, no captions, no watermark, no logos, no brand marks, no numbers on flags, no phone status bar, no camera UI, no date stamp. Korean woman, 28, stunning, small V-line face, porcelain glass skin with a dewy glow, straight soft brows, sparkling doe eyes with a pink shimmer lid and fluttery lashes, glossy cherry-red gradient lips, huge playful grin; glossy chestnut-brown hair in a high bouncy ponytail with curtain bangs, swinging as she moves; fitted sleeveless baby-pink knit polo top, tailored high-waisted white shorts, white fitted golf glove on her left hand, small pearl stud earrings, delicate silver tennis bracelet, white sneakers; no visible logos or text on clothing, glove, clubs, bag or cart. She is a genuinely stunning, glamorous, radiant Korean fashion and lifestyle creator: flawless glowing skin, glossy styled hair, polished makeup, a huge genuine smile, confident and full of joy. A lush manicured golf course on a bright sunny late afternoon: warm golden sunlight, vivid green fairway, clear blue sky with a few soft white clouds, tall green trees. Selfie close-up: she leans in close to the lens beside a plain white golf cart with no markings, mid-word with a mischievous giggle, eyebrows raised, glancing sideways over her shoulder as if checking nobody is listening. Her arm holding the phone is out of frame, no phone visible. Golden sunlight flares softly through the trees behind her. Framing: close-up from the chest up, face slightly right of center at about 56% of the frame width, eyes at about 33% from the top, ponytail and curtain bangs visible; the white cart roof edge and green trees softly defocused behind; nothing important in the bottom third. Use the reference image(s) for identity: the same person(s) with an identical face, hair, skin tone and outfit. Do not copy the reference framing or background unless the scene matches.

She speaks at her normal full, bright, bubbly, excited volume, the same voice as always, never whispering and never lowering her voice, in a bright, bubbly, giggly young woman's voice speaking American English with a light Korean accent, loud and excited, cracking herself up, rapid-fire, big warm reactions: "Okay, don't tell my golf coach this..." You Don't Need Another AI Tool

Character lock

Thao Nguyen, Vietnamese, 30, an AI-generated fictional character. The lock paragraph goes into every still prompt and every motion prompt word for word, and the voice line goes into every motion prompt, so the voice gate has one target.

Character lock, Thao Nguyen, verbatim
Vietnamese woman, 30, jaw-droppingly glamorous, sculpted oval face, flawless luminous light-golden skin, defined cheekbones with a soft bronze contour, lifted almond eyes with a sleek black winged liner and lush lashes, glossy deep-berry lips, confident knowing smile that breaks into a wide laugh; long sleek jet-black hair blown out straight and glossy past her shoulders, moving in the breeze; fitted one-shoulder champagne-gold satin midi dress, gold cuff bracelet, small diamond stud earrings, nude pointed heels, oversized black cat-eye sunglasses in her hand; fully opaque fabric, no visible logos or text on any clothing or accessory.

Voice direction, pasted into every motion prompt, “a smooth, low, confident female voice, American English with a soft Vietnamese accent, warm and playful with a smile in every word, lively natural pace”.

Script, as it plays

She speaks in all four shots. The fictional character says every line, so each one is a scripted line, not a member’s account. Cut A carries 36 scripted words and cut B 36.

What ships around it

  • Sticker

The site screenshot sticker with a makeroll.com label. It lands at 2.0 s and holds 2.6 s, narrowed to 290 px wide after Stage 3.

  • End card

MAKE/ROLL, makeroll.com, “Find your finish line”. It holds 2 s over a blur of the cut’s own first frame, so the loop back to the hook stays clean.

  • Share idea, from the concept file

debate-bait: ’You don’t need another AI tool’ splits AI creators into tool collectors and finishers; the spoken ’fight me in the comments’ licenses the argument.

  • Comment seed

Unpopular opinion: another AI tool won’t finish your video. Agree, or fight me?

  • AI label

None burned in, by owner decision. The disclosure sits beside every player on this page, and the platform toggle carries it at upload.

The one paid retake

s2 was re-shot once, seed 414 to 415. Take 1 failed the script check at a word error rate of 0.20, turned its back mid-line and dropped the “nine” from the price. Take 2 fixed the facing and the error rate, but Veo dropped the “nine” again, so the spoken price was cut in the edit and only the on-screen text carries $9.99/week.

Stills set aside

  • master take 1Photoreal but not glamorous enough, with messy shorter hair and no visible glam makeup.
  • hA take 1Framed too wide. Take 2 was still knee-up and needed a local crop to waist-up.
  • hB take 1It copied the s1 framing, so both B setups would have been the same shot.

Photorealistic vertical 9:16 frame from an authentic smartphone video shot on a recent [phone], natural light, real skin texture with visible pores, candid, slight handheld motion; glamorous but real, no plastic skin, no studio lighting, no mannequin pose. No text, no captions, no watermark, no logos, no brand marks, no badges, no emblems, no number plates, no phone visible, no phone status bar, no camera UI, no date stamp. Tight selfie close-up filmed at arm's length from slightly above eye level (her arm is out of frame, no phone visible): only the head and shoulders of Vietnamese woman, 30, jaw-droppingly glamorous, sculpted oval face, flawless luminous light-golden skin, defined cheekbones with a soft bronze contour, lifted almond eyes with a sleek black winged liner and lush lashes, glossy deep-berry lips, confident knowing smile that breaks into a wide laugh; long sleek jet-black hair blown out straight and glossy past her shoulders, moving in the breeze; fitted one-shoulder champagne-gold satin midi dress, gold cuff bracelet, small diamond stud earrings, nude pointed heels, oversized black cat-eye sunglasses in her hand; fully opaque fabric, no visible logos or text on any clothing or accessory. fill the frame; she leans back against the closed door of a glossy pearl-white low two-door sports car with smooth clean unbadged bodywork (no emblem, no badge, no script lettering, no grille logo, no number plate anywhere) so the smooth white door and roof fill the background behind her head, the golden sea and a warm sun flare visible past the car on one side; she tilts her head toward the lens with her eyebrows raised and a knowing, magnetic smile, lips parted mid-word, long glossy black hair blowing across her shoulder. This is a much tighter and different framing than reference image 2: her face is large, about 45 percent of the frame width, eyes at about 38 percent from the top, face horizontally centred. The car is parked; nobody is in it. Nothing important in the bottom third of the frame. Use the reference image(s) for identity: the same person(s) with an identical face, hair, skin tone and outfit. Do not copy the reference framing or background unless the scene matches.

Handheld selfie close-up at arm's length, her arm out of frame, no phone visible, a slight natural wobble. From the very first frame she is already talking, mid-sentence, leaning back against the car door and tilting toward the lens with raised eyebrows and a knowing, delighted smile, hair blowing across in the sea wind, sun flare behind her. Her face stays close, fully visible and toward the lens the whole time. The car is parked with the engine off and never moves; nobody gets in and nobody drives. She speaks straight to the lens, in a smooth, low, confident female voice, American English with a soft Vietnamese accent, warm and playful with a smile in every word, lively natural pace: "Nobody talks about this part of AI videos." She smiles, raising her eyebrows. Ambient sea wind only. Natural lip sync, clear dialogue. Original ambient sound only. No background music. One afternoon, notes to last gate.

From the run-start stamp at 14:18 to the Stage 3 report took 125.1 minutes, and 178.4 to the last gate. The paid work ran for 48.1 minutes, from the first portrait to the last hook retake. Times are local, UTC+7, from the ledgers, the cost log and file stamps.

  1. Run 3 starts. Stage 0 reuses run 2’s product truth and trend data.

  2. The owner’s notes on run 2 become the new creative brief.

  3. Each note is mapped to a gate or a rule, and the production brief goes out.

  4. The orchestrator scores all twelve concepts and advances h1 to h4, a set total of 167.

  5. First paid call, Ploy’s master portrait. Four production agents now run in parallel.

  6. Ploy’s s1 is re-shot after the hand gesture in take 1.

  7. Jiwoo’s hook B is re-shot for the voice gate.

  8. Thao’s s2 is re-shot. Veo drops the “nine” again, so the spoken price is cut.

  9. Last paid call of the run, Bea’s hook A re-shot for the voice gate.

  10. Supercar notes done, and the beach follows at 15:21. Stage 2 is complete.

  11. Stage 3 passes both beach cuts.

  12. Golf and supercar are rejected on first look. The satin blur goes onto the supercar clips.

  13. The pseudo-logo on the golf polo is filled from the knit.

  14. The supercar sticker is narrowed so it clears her mouth.

  15. Stage 3 report written. 8 of 8 pass.

  16. All eight masters are re-assembled from the same inputs and re-gated.

  17. Run 2 and run 3 are measured side by side from the delivered masters.

  18. Review catches “make-roll” in both golf captions. The fix goes into the shared caption fixer, both golf cuts are rebuilt, and the last gate closes.

09 / Disclosure

What this page won’t claim.

Four lead characters and several friends appear in these ads, and none of them exist. Here’s the rest of the fine print, in plain words.

Fictional people

Ploy, Bea, Jiwoo and Thao, and the friends laughing behind them, are AI-generated fictional characters. Gemini 3 Pro Image drew them from text-only lock paragraphs and Veo 3.1 Fast animated them and gave them voices. Nobody was filmed.

Scripted claims

When a character says her video is done or reads out the weekly brief, that’s a scripted line in a fictional story. The ads were made on 24 Sep 2026, before MakeRoll’s first weekly brief on 28 Sep 2026, so no member used a brief to make them. Members make their own videos.

No results to report

These ads haven’t run as paid media. No audience, click or sales data exists, and nobody knows yet which hook works better, or whether run 3 beats run 2 with viewers. The only scores here are the measured gate and one reviewer’s internal scores.

Label outside the frame

The owner chose not to burn an AI label into these ads. So this page carries the disclosure next to every player, and any real upload needs the platform’s AI-content toggle switched on.

Owner’s notes, paraphrased

The owner’s notes on run 2 appear here in neutral words. The styling brief asked for glamorous, confident, high-energy creators, and two cuts needed an ad-safety fix before they passed. The one price on screen, $9.99 a week, is MakeRoll’s real weekly price.

10 / Questions

AI UGC ads, the questions people ask.

Short answers, taken from this run’s ledgers, gate files and review notes. The sections above hold the detail behind each one.

How much does it cost to make an AI UGC ad?
The cost breakdown for this run is available to members or partners only. Members or partners can access the full production details for these eight ads.
Which AI models made these ads?
Gemini 3 Pro Image drew each character’s master portrait and every start frame, at 2K in a 9:16 frame. Veo 3.1 Fast turned each start frame into a 4 s or 8 s vertical clip at 1080p with native speech. Whisper, OCR, ffmpeg and speaker embeddings ran every check locally.
How long did the eight ads take to make?
One afternoon. The run started at 14:18 local time on 24 Sep 2026, the paid generation took 48.1 minutes, and the last gate closed 178.4 minutes after the start. Four production agents worked in parallel, one per story.
How do you keep an AI character’s face and voice consistent?
Each character gets one master portrait and one lock paragraph. The portrait goes into every start-frame request as a reference image, the lock paragraph is pasted word for word into every still and motion prompt, and one voice line goes into every motion prompt. A voice gate compares speaker embeddings between shots, and five of the eight ads reach its 0.75 target while three ship at 0.699 or 0.721, above the 0.65 reject line. Faces still drift a little between shots, and the visual review logged that as minor model variance.
Why was the first cut of these ads rejected?
Run 2 passed every measured gate at 100.0, and the owner still rejected its openings. The first seconds were silent, the dry humour did not land and it looked staged. So run 3 had to open with a glamorous, high-energy creator already talking and laughing, and three new gates check for speech by 0.5 s, for no still-image shots and for one voice in every shot. Inside run 3 the visual review also sent four ads back once, and every fix was made locally.
Do AI UGC ads have to be disclosed?
These ads carry no burned-in AI label, by the owner’s decision, so any upload should switch on the platform’s AI-content label. This page discloses it next to every player. Rules differ by platform and by country, so check the ad policy wherever an ad will run.
Are the women in these ads MakeRoll customers?
No. Ploy, Bea, Jiwoo and Thao, and the friends behind them, are AI-generated fictional characters, not real MakeRoll members, customers or testimonials. What they say about MakeRoll is a scripted line, and the ads were made on 24 Sep 2026, before MakeRoll’s first weekly brief on 28 Sep 2026.

Get the pipeline kit with Lifetime.

Also included with Lifetime, separate from the core service, is a personal licence to the MakeRoll UGC pipeline kit. After payment the bot sends your member key, and your AI agent or one installer sets the kit up. You run ./ugc run on your own Mac with your own treg.to account, which pays the AI costs. The kit is the animated-story version of the pipeline. The photoreal UGC ads in MakeRoll's case studies came from a separate ad workflow that isn't part of the kit. The setup guide, system requirements and licence are on makeroll.com/ugc-pipeline/. The kit is final once delivered, as the refund policy explains. Setup help from Michael for your own site is an optional extra, on request. Nothing about results is promised, and that includes views, sales and bookings.
